Passionflower (Passiflora incarnata) is a climbing vine with an unmistakable purple bloom. In traditional herbal use across Britain and Europe it has long been valued as a gentle calmative — the sort of plant people reached for at the end of a difficult day rather than the start of one.
It contains naturally occurring flavonoids, including vitexin and isovitexin, which are the compounds most often discussed in the herbal literature. In Nervitix, passionflower is included for its traditional role in supporting a settled, restful evening — the time of day when many people say tingling and restlessness in the hands and feet feel most noticeable.
